I must admit, that title (which I didn’t know existed before pope John Paul II’s death) sent mini-shivers down my spine. To me, it spoke of ages gone. Of kings and castles. Dragons and wizards. Powerful protectors of the church. Glorious crusades. Knights in shining armor. Princes riding in on their war mounts, rushing to preserve the unity of their realms…

Of course, that majestic image quickly crumbles when one realizes that these princes are just old men. A good third of whom is so old that they aren’t trusted to make a sane decision in electing their next King.

Sometimes I feel that us humans are becoming too advanced for our own good.

This is just an image that flashed through my mind. Neutral image. It’s not meant to belittle those men, god knows I’ll probably be senile at that age, rather than rushing around the world, with over a billion souls hanging around my neck.
