Change
Twice in the past couple of weeks, interesting conversations have revolved around the concept of ’survival of the fittest’ and it’s application to society and not just nature… Nietzsche’s ideas were thrown around, some agreeing, others disagreeing, others still (moi!) seeing it as logical but inhumane (and hence, probably unachievable) to consider weeding out the weaker elements of society… This is not to be taken on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender or any other characteristic… Rather, it’s an idea that is in stark contrast to ‘The meek shall inherit the earth’… it has been proven time and time again that you need to be the wolf, and not the sheep, in order to survive…
Tirades of opposition to organized religion (mainly christianity - for inhibiting human achievement and development), charity, “affirmative action” (what a SHAM!) etc…
I won’t go into this discussion now, but what stunned me is that both times, I left these conversations with a sense of foreboading. Both times, I realised that if some sort of “eradication” occured, I would be one of those removed…. I’m a giver, and I often hate myself for it…It’s a dog eat dog world, and I’m learning every day that you can’t be a ‘nice guy’and hope to survive.
It’s time for me to change.
It’s time for me to evolve.
